The woman accused of killing three elderly people after they allegedly ate a toxic Beef Wellington meal in country Victoria has listed her city-based townhouse for sale.

Erin Patterson, 49, had invested in a $1 million townhouse in the eastern Melbourne suburb of Mount Waverley in 2019.

But the unremarkable three bedroom brick property is now scheduled to be auctioned at the weekend.

Ms Patterson is facing three murder charges and five counts of attempted murder; she is being held on remand in a women’s prison before appearing in court next year.

She has engaged high profile Melbourne criminal lawyer Bill Doogue, who appeared for her on November 3 when she faced court in Morwell in the Latrobe Valley in eastern Victoria.

Ms Patterson had been an infrequent visitor to the Mt Waverley townhouse, according to neighbours, but she was known to regularly visit Melbourne, including after the deaths became global news.

The townhouse auction is listed for 11am on Saturday and is likely to attract significant interest after news broke of Ms Patterson being charged with allegedly killing her former parents-in-law Don and Gail Patterson, both 70, and Ms Patterson’s sister Heather Wilkinson, 66.

Erin Patterson is also charged with attempting to murder her former husband Simon Patterson, 48, on four occasions and Pastor Ian Wilkinson, 68, the husband of Heather Wilkinson.

Real estate agency Ray White has pitched the sale to downsizers and families wanting to send their children to good state schools.

“Desired for its defined dimensions and convenient placement in the Mount Waverley Secondary Catchment (STSA), this easy-care townhouse is equally suited to those starting out or downsizing as it is for families and investors,’’ the agents said.

“Quietly tucked at the rear of only two, the residence takes great care in providing a comfortable lifestyle with the lounge room enriched with large windows, while the dining zone is accompanied by a well-equipped kitchen complete with a Bosch dishwasher.”

The bulk of the police allegations relate to suspected toxic mushroom poisoning after a meal at her $1 million Leongatha house on July 29.

Ms Patterson has consistently denied any wrongdoing.

It is expected to sell for about $960,000 to $1,050,000.

Ms Patterson of Leongatha, Victoria, is accused of attempting to kill her husband on four occasions between November 16, 2021, and July 29 this year, with claimed incidents also in May and September last year.

A further attempted murder charge was laid against Ms Patterson relating to July 29 this year, also at Leongatha.

She has not pleaded to the charges.
