Coronavirus Australia live news: Gladys Berejiklian says this lockdown will be the last of its kind in NSW

The Premier says the unvaccinated will have to wait on freedoms, but NSW won't go back to broad shutdowns after December 1.

Welcome to The Australian's rolling coverage of news from Canberra amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. 

Gladys Berejiklian has outlined three key dates for NSW reopening, from October 11, as cases fall and the state looks to hit 90 per cent fully vaccinated by December 1. NSW recorded a drop in new cases: 787, with 11 deaths. Victoria's cases have dropped slightly, to 705 infections and one death, amid nearly 30,000 vaccinations on Sunday.
