Alleged Leongatha mushroom murders trial date set for Latrobe Valley starting April 2025
Erin Patterson’s charges of killing three people with a beef wellington dish allegedly containing death cap mushrooms will be heard next year.
The alleged mushroom murderer Erin Trudi Patterson will face trial in country Victoria next April.
The Supreme Court in Melbourne decided on Wednesday the trial will be held in Victoria’s Latrobe Valley from April 28 next year.
Ms Patterson, 49, is accused of murdering three elderly people at her house in Leongatha at a lunch a year ago attended by five people.
She has been charged over the deaths of her in-laws, Don and Gail Patterson and Gail’s sister Heather Wilkinson, after serving a beef wellington meal allegedly containing death cap mushrooms.
Ms Patterson also faces five attempted murder charges relating to her children’s great uncle Ian Wilkinson and her ex-husband Simon.
Although several of the charges relating to Simon Patterson allegedly occurred elsewhere and at a previous time.
The trial will be held in Morwell, which is 150km east of Melbourne.
