It’s no secret the French do it best, whatever ‘it’ may be. From interior design to great champagne and every cheese-dipped piece of food in between, the French just know how to live. Which is why this private island for sale off the coast of Brittany might just mean a ticket to paradise — if Scott Morrison will allow leaving the country for it, of course.

Located on the Côtes d‘Armor in the picturesque Trieux estuary facing the Bréhat archipelago, the private island is complete with a luxury residence with views to kill. Priced at €1,575,000 (approximately AU$2,611,150), it’s actually not a bad deal especially considering the cost of any waterfront property in one of Australia’s major cities. According to RealEstate.com.au, the average house in Bondi costs $2.8 million.

So, what does the lucky buyer get for the cool two mil? 6,420-square-metres of private island for one. With stunning views across the estuary, the rocky outcrop has plenty of spots to moor a boat, and the crystal clear water doesn’t look bad for a dip, either. As the listing notes, the island looks out to the nearby La Croix lighthouse, one of many in the lighthouse-filled marine area, known for its history and dotted islands.

The home, built in 1758 has been renovated twice, and has a luxury laid back feel to it. The stone exterior is contrasted with a cute, cottage-like interior, with rooms looking out across the brilliant blue sea.

But the best part? The island comes with its own look out spot, which really appears more like a mini fort. Does it get any better?
