Stormy Daniels breaks silence in first interview since Donald Trump's arrest

Stormy Daniels says she wants to testify against Donald Trump and hopes he goes to jail.

In a 90-minute interview with British TV host and former tabloid editor Piers Morgan, Daniels revealed she was glad to see Trump walk into court this week to face 34 felony charges over alleged hush-money payments to her in 2016.

“Part of me was like ‘Finally, like, he has to go in and be under the rule of someone else,’” Daniels told Morgan.

“He has to walk in and obey the judge and, you know, the king has been dethroned and he is no longer untouchable.”

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg alleges Trump’s payment to Daniels to keep a lid on an affair with the porn star was illegal and exceeded the federal campaign-contribution cap.

According to a statement of facts released by Bragg on Tuesday, it is alleged Trump enacted a “catch and kill” scheme to snuff out damaging information about his past affairs as far back as August 2015.

The 13-page document alleges Trump, his former lawyer Michael Cohen and David Pecker, chairman of American Media Inc – publisher of National Enquirer magazine – worked together to pay not only Daniels, but also former Playboy bunny Karen McDougal and a doorman at Trump Tower, Dinoo Sujadin, to keep them quiet.

Trump has pleaded not guilty plea to 34 counts of falsifying business records in the first degree.

Daniels said she would “absolutely” take the stand and give evidence in court if called by prosecutors.

“It’s daunting but I look forward to it because I have nothing to hide. I am the only one who has been telling the truth. He can’t shame me any more.

“I think having them call me in and put me on the stand legitimised my story and who I am and if they don’t it almost feels like they are hiding me.

Daniels also questioned Trump’s ability to run for president in 2024, despite facing charges. ”It is a free country (but) what I’m surprised at is that the law will allow him to. I was equally surprised, I was like ‘Oh surely someone who’s indicted and whatever would be exempt from being able to run. (It was a) Shocker to me that there’s no rule against it.”

Daniels also expressed pity for the 76-year-old.

“I don’t hate him … in a way I do feel sorry for him.”
