Keep your cool
A country Victoria property complete with what was a Philip Cox-designed home has hit the market. The 1995-built Kilmore home, set 60km north of Melbourne, has had only two owners. It has been listed by the relocating Exell family, who refurbished the homestead since paying $1.05 million in 2004. Cox designed the home as a personal friend of the previous owners, the Holdaway family. The eight bedroom, 540 sqm home features a distinctive Colorbond steel roof and is timber framed with western red cedar cladding. The design brief was of an Australian farmhouse style homestead that comprises a series of three pods, all interlinked by circulation and flow areas. Pat Rice Hawkins agent Bart O’Sullivan has the listing.
Classic Portsea beach house
Design and technology entrepreneur David Trewern, who founded digital agency DT, is selling on the Mornington Peninsula. The now Byron Bay-based innovator has listed his Portsea golf course estate. Bordering the Sorrento Golf Club on a tightly held cul-de-sac, the four bedroom, five bathroom residence offers all the hallmarks of a classic 1980s Portsea beach house, according to Peninsula Sotheby’s listing agent Rob Curtain. It has $3 million to $3.3 million hopes. Recently renovated, the property features a wraparound deck which overlooks the heated swimming pool, tennis court and 18th fairway. Trewern’s wife Bethwyn paid $3.9 million for Moondarah at Byron Bay in 2015 when it was marketed as arguably Byron Bay’s most classic beach house with direct frontage to Belongil Beach.
Rockcliff makes his exit
Port Adelaide’s Tom Rockliff has sold his Brisbane investment property. The Cannon Hill home, not far from the Gabba, scored $850,000 in a recent off-market deal through McGrath Bulimba. It had been a $725 a week rental. Rockliff paid $640,000 in 2013 when he was at the Lions. Set on 405 sqm, the 2004 built home has four bedrooms, three bathrooms, two living areas and an entertaining deck. The property is near Rockcliff’s former home in Morningside which is for sale through Place Bulimba agent Shannon Harvey. The five bedroom entertainer with bar and swimming pool was completed in 2016. The 28-year-old forward played 154 games in his eight-year career at The Gabba.
