Farm getaway going for a song

Country music royalty Troy Cassar-Daley and his 4KQ Brisbane breakfast radio presenter wife Laurel Edwards are selling their Queensland farm getaway. Cassar-Daley would fish on the Vernor property fronting the Brisbane River, while Edwards was keen to get around the 4ha estate riding horses. Hacked duo home at last

After a turbulent month, former MasterChef contestant Dani Venn and her husband Chris Burgess have now settled on and into their new Mornington Peninsula home. The couple were all ready to settle on their $1,375,000 Mount Eliza acquisition before becoming the unwitting victim in a hacking scandal that engulfed Property Exchange Australia, the emerging online property transfer system. The hacker of her conveyancer and estate agent email addresses diverted some of the proceeds of the couple’s home sale in Smiths Gully into the hacker’s false account. After a much publicised battle and even a GoFundMe page campaign, Venn and Burgess got their money back and have fulfilled their dream to live near the sea. Their three-bedroom home has views across the tree tops to the waters of Port Phillip Bay. Lupton Ferguson Real Estate agent Louise Lupton sold the property in 65 days. It last traded for $1,035,000 in 2015.

Eagles star sells Cottesloe nest

The Cottesloe home that AFL legend Sam Mitchell and wife Lyndall bought when Sam signed on as a player at the West Coast Eagles is under offer. The Mitchells bought the four-bedroom home less than 18 months ago when Sam played out his final year of his career at Subiaco Oval, having previously won four premierships at Hawthorn. He is now an Eagles assistant coach. The home was built in 2007, when owned by professor Edwin Jaggard and wife Pamela, who sold it for $2.1m in 2013. It only increased in value by $50,000 when the Mitchells bought it three years later. They found time to completely renovate and refurbish the Hampton-style home, which features a rear swimming pool. Wallace Real Estate Claremont agent Justin Wallace handled the marketing.
