Lies, damn lies and Mediscare
Wouldn’t it be a novelty if Labor MPs stopped telling the electorate what Peter Dutton is going to do and not do, and actually were honest about their own plans?

Perhaps Australians do need to elect a minority Labor-Greens-teals government so they can see for themselves the disasters it would cause.

(“Voters should demand a high-energy campaign”, 29-30/3). Economist Saul Eslake was even more pointed when he called them gimmicks.
Thomas Morgan, Mt Nelson, Tas
Neither political party has told us how we are to defend ourselves if we are attacked in the next five years. The best answer would be using missiles fired from underground bunkers set along the coastlines or from stealth bombers. Meanwhile our governments continue to bluff us that we will be OK.
John Langrehr, Leabrook, SA
Come the election I’ll be voting for whoever is the most likely to give me the cheapest electricity. It’s time to bring back our cheap electricity.

On his visit to a US defence base in Greenland, JD Vance told Greenlanders they should sign up to a deal with the US. Before the Greenlanders do that they might have a look at the deal the US is offering war-torn Ukraine. When they see how that deal stacks up the Greenlanders will probably do a deal with China.
Paul Everingham, Hamilton, Qld
