Maybe the powers running UNESCO have been reading their own publicity.

Andrew Forrest’s defence of China is understandable – he needs to be on good terms. China’s African iron ore investments are likely to bite the Australian suppliers before too long.

Who’s surprised Andrew Forrest is enthusiastically supporting his biggest customer?

Alex Cleave, North Fremantle, WA

Andrew Forrest forgot one important word in showing respect to one’s partner: mutual. Without it looks and smells like grovelling.

Gordon Thurlow, Mooloolah Valley, Qld

Paul Everingham, Hamilton, Qld

The government would like every mother to go back to work (and pay tax) and employ someone (who pays tax) to take care of her child while she does so. Lawrence Shaw, Morningside, Qld
