No longer voting Liberal after 49 years.
I was a rusted on Liberal/Coalition voter for 49 years, but when they did the dirty on Senator Jim Molan they lost me and many of my mates. We will now vote independent.
What’s-his-name and What’s-her-name got Senate guernseys and Jim Molan missed out. And the Libs wonder why they are going to get flogged at the next election.
Two simple messages to the Coalition if they want to win the next federal election. One: stop using the phrase: “We’ve got to stop talking about ourselves”, because repeating it constantly is talking about yourselves. And two: start doing what Daniel Andrews has been doing, and do something. Anything.
What is it with the Liberal Party that they are so intent on their own self-destruction?
Julie Bishop hugged Kerryn Phelps in Parliament (“Bishop’s powerful statement”, 27/11). Was this “welcome to the sisterhood” or “thanks for our minority government”?
Perhaps we should pick some, or all, of the Australian women’s cricket team to bolster the men’s team? After all, the blokes are playing like a mob of girls (no disrespect to the women, by the way).
As the dust slowly settles in Victoria the Liberals can rest assured they will be in the wilderness for quite a while. The way things are looking for Labor all they have to do is stick their shoes on the right feet.
The Victorian election result suggests that the electorate is the most leftist in the country and supports progressive values and policies. Congratulations comrades.
If Ken Henry thinks it could take a decade to fix the bank’s broken culture, then I would suggest he is the wrong man for the job (“NAB turnaround a 10-year task”, 27/11).
I am a white, male, Christian, heterosexual, self-funded retiree. I am also a Liberal voter and a Wallaby supporter. I am doing it tough at the moment.
It’s interesting to note that the proportion of the Yes response on backing religious laws (“Majority backs laws to protect religions”, 27/11) is the same as the Yes vote in the marriage plebiscite. Restores my faith in the ideal of a fair go.
