Bid to bring Trump down fails

The Democrats and the Left media need finally to accept the presidential election result

Collusion, delusion. The Democrats and the left-wing media have been trying to bring down Donald Trump for more than two years. They have refused to accept and respect the voice and vote of the American people. They refuse to acknowledge and accept that Trump is by far the best president the US has had in decades. The country’s economy is going ahead in leaps and bounds, employment is growing fast and the huge mess and massive debt that Barack Obama left is well on the way to being reduced.

President Trump has been “completely cleared” of any collusion or wrong-doing in the Russiagate fantasy (“Trump wins in Mueller probe”, 26/3). But I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting for an apology from the Democrats or majority left-wing media.

Good to see there was never any collusion between Russia and Donald Trump. The Democrats threw everything at every part of Trump’s Administration and only found minor problems with a few of his administration and nothing to do with collusion.

How much would we find out about the Democratic Party with two years of investigation?

Walter Christy, Shearwater, Tas

The Democrats have experienced their WMD moment. They had pinned their hopes on Robert Mueller doing their dirty work, but he has determined there is no evidence of collusion on the part of the President or his family.

Cameron Stewart’s analysis of his findings is balanced (“Devastating defeat for Democrats and for much of the US media”, 26/3) and in stark contrast to that of the ABC’s John Barron, who brushed over it and pointed instead to an alleged Trump rap sheet.

It’s time for the haters to can their fury and for the Democrats to stop denying the result in 2016 and focus their attention on defeating Trump at the 2020 ballot rather than in the courtroom.

Donald Trump has been completely vindicated after the release of the Mueller report, which was established to investigate bizarre claims about Russian collusion into the presidential elections of 2016. The so-called evidence was obtained by deceptive methods; the claims were mostly fanciful lies promoted by and serving the interests only of the born-to-rule political elites of the Democratic Party, all cloaked in exaggeration, scare-mongering, lies, threats of impeachment and criminalisation of innocents. All this was accompanied by an unquestioning, compliant US media (with some notable exceptions) not interested in the truth.

G.M. Derrick, Sherwood, Qld

Last June, ABC-TV’s Four Corners, with presenter Sarah Ferguson, ran a three-week “expose” on US President Donald Trump, including interviews with Carter Page, Steve Bannon and Roger Stone. Despite the program’s best intentions it revealed nothing of value in the Russian collusion sphere, and this is backed up by Robert Mueller’s report released on Monday.

Cecil White, Yamba, NSW

Now that there is no proof of collusion between Donald Trump and Russia, will the FBI be investigating the Clinton group for its connection with Russia during the election campaign? And will it investigate a move by Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and others to stage a resistance rather than accept the new President in the early days of Donald Trump? Of course not. And no doubt the media will have no interest in this lack of proof.

C. Dicker, Bracken Ridge, Qld

The US Democratic Party seems to be embroiled in a deepening collective madness that has brought to the surface extreme Left socialistic aims while the leaders are bereft of any policies other than to keep trying, against the odds, to impeach Donald Trump in the lead-up to the presidential election in 2020 (“Republicans to use finding as a campaign line of attack”, 26/3). All Trump has to do now is to sit in the Oval Office and tweet while the Democrats do the heavy lifting in getting him re-elected.

Roy Kington, Castle Hill, NSW

Is there someone in Donald Trump’s team game enough to tell the President the correct procedure regarding saluting? Or are they afraid of serious consequences for insolence if they do? His flapping black greatcoat is another issue.
