Bernard Salt has suggested that a penchant for $22 breakfasts is part of the reason young people can’t buy a home.

In his The Weekend Australian Magazine column, he says the avocado represents the fact young people don’t know how to save – throwing their money away on luxuries.

There are so many problems with this it’s hard to know where to start.
