Welcome to the Trading Day blog for Friday, February 23. The ASX 200 index closed 0.4 per cent higher at 7643.60 points, with tech stocks rallying after AI giant Nvidia powered Wall Street's big gains overnight.

Nvidia's $US277bn gain in market value overnight marked the largest one-day market cap gain on record for a US company. Meanwhile the local corporate earnings season continues with a list of results ahead.

The Aussie dollar is around US65.70c.
