Welcome to the Trading Day blog for Monday, January 20. The ASX 200 is up 0.6 per cent at 8356.1 points at 3.10 AEDT. The market is quite before Martin Luther King Day and Trump's inauguration on Monday. However, risk sentiment continues to be buoyed by a "very good" call between Trump and Xi on Friday.

Cryptocurrency market leader bitcoin is currently trading above $US101,000.

The Aussie dollar is trading around US62.09c.
