Welcome to the Trading Day blog for Tuesday, November 12. The ASX 200 index closed 0.1 per cent lower to 8255.60 points. On Wall Street, Dow Jones closed above 44,000 points for the first time and Nasdaq and S&P 500 indexes closed flat.

The Aussie dollar is trading around US65.51c.
