Telstra extended its reach into the healthcare sector yesterday with the launch of an e-health product enabling remote consultation between consumers and providers via smartphones and tablets.

MyCareManager is tipped to “revolutionise” disability and aged care services by connecting patients at home with healthcare professionals via an online portal and video conferencing, while funnelling data via wireless devices. “Conditions can be monitored through wireless and bluetooth devices including glucometers, thermometers, and blood pressure monitors,” said Telstra Health managing director Shane Solomon.
