The Burleigh Heads home of golfer and former Australian Open champion Rodger Davis is under contract. The sale has been nearly a decade in the making for Davis, who initially listed the Skyline Terrace home in 2008, just two years after paying $2.25 million. On and off the market since then, the home has sold through Black Label Property Broadbeach agent Andrew Ramsey, who was asking for offers above $2.1m. Set on 1144sq m with views to Surfers Paradise, the four-bedroom Mediterranean-inspired home has a gourmet kitchen, wine cellar and pool. Davis had a long career in professional golf and featured at The Masters, US Open and The British Open, where he finished runner-up in 1987. The former world top-10 golfer took out the Australian Senior PGA two years ago.

$6m deposit for banker

ANZ executive Mark Lang saw his Kew trophy home sell for $6.05m at its recent private auction. The Thomas Street home set amid Paul Delany landscaped gardens was marketed through Kay & Burton agents Scott Patterson and Sam Wilkinson. Lang paid $597,000 in 2000 for the home in Kew’s prestigious Sackville Ward precinct. It has five bedrooms, four bathrooms and a self-cleaning heated pool on 780sq m.

Waterfront luxury on offer

Sunland Group managing director Sahba Abedian and wife Nava Moghbelpour have listed their luxury riverfront apartment in Newstead, Brisbane. The three-bedroom apartment is in the Mirvac-built Pier Waterfront. It cost the couple $1.95m in 2013, the year before they wed. It comprises 178sq m internally and 30sq m of terraces. LJ Hooker New Farm agent Brett Greensill has the property. No doubt the couple are off to the new Abian development in the Brisbane CBD, which is developed by the ASX-listed Sunland. Sahba is a lawyer and in 1998 he joined his father, property developer Soheil Abedian, at Sunland. He joined initially as legal counsel before heading south to start its Victoria operations and later returning to Queensland to become chief executive.

Cricket star tests the market

Cricketer Adam Voges, who recently retired from the international game, is looking to sell his old Perth home. Voges and wife Kristy paid $1.07m for a four-bedroom Attadale home last August, where they are rebuilding. The asking price for their Cottesloe apartment has eased from $799,000 to $749,000 over recent times. The veteran batsman paid $700,000 for the apartment in 2009 when he was playing English county cricket for Nottinghamshire. A $500-a-week rental has been suggested as likely. Perth Property Partners City Beach agent Rob Walker has the listing. Voges has represented Australia in all forms of the game, but it wasn’t until 35 years of age that he would represent Australia in a Test match. He scored a century on debut and went on to play 20 Tests, retiring with a Test average of 61.87.
