Sydney sales of $22m and $21m break property records
Sales of $22m and $21m bring in big bucks for vendors. Plus, fancy owning the home of a young Don Bradman?
An eastern suburbs logistics expert has forked out $22m to buy a single-level apartment called the AYA Penthouse through Ray White’s Eddie Mansour and Jeremy Wiesner of Wiesner Property.
An eastern suburbs logistics expert has forked out $22m to buy a single-level apartment called the AYA Penthouse through Ray White’s Eddie Mansour and Jeremy Wiesner of Wiesner Property.
“The price of $22m sets a new benchmark for non-beachfront-facing apartments in Bondi Beach,” Mr Mansour said.
The 353sq m penthouse was designed by Koichi Takada and includes four bedrooms and two car spaces.
Meanwhile, accountant Anthony Bell appears to have broken the Dover Heights record by offloading his clifftop house for about $21m to Guanda Hu through McGrath agents Luke Hogan and Will Manning. The agents declined to comment on the sale of the five-bedroom property.
Bell bought the house in Hunter Street seven years ago from TV star Larry Emdur and his wife, Sylvie, paying $11.5m.
Price drop on Sir Don’s childhood home
Built in 1890, the childhood home of cricketing great Don Bradman has had another cut with the asking price dropping from $3.1m six months ago to a guide of between $1.9m to $2.1m.
The 52 Shepherd Street property in Bowral has four bedrooms, two bathrooms and is positioned in the bucolic NSW southern highlands, southwest of Sydney.
Drew Lindsay’s Samuel Lindsay and Lisa-Marie Cauchois are handling the marketing campaign.
Bradman lived in the property between the ages of three and 15.
According to CoreLogic, the property last sold for $890,000 in 2007.
Historic Newcastle home headed to auction
Newcastle Knights chief commercial officer Lee Smith has listed his CBD King Street terrace with a $1.55m price tag.
The home was once part of the Newcastle Court Chambers and was later used as legal offices before it was converted to his residence in 2011.
The property will be auctioned on September 21 through McGrath Newcastle agent Tammy Hawkins.
Smith bought the property in 2011, and spent several years enjoying Newcastle’s inner-city lifestyle at the 1898-built home, which has three large bedrooms, two bathrooms and is 450m from Newcastle Beach.
$12.3m view of Brisbane River
Businessman and car dealer Adam Carmichael and his wife, Daniella, have trousered $12.3m from the sale of their Prospect Lane contemporary mansion in the wealthy Brisbane suburb of Hamilton.
The couple relocated to Brisbane after selling up their auto dealerships in Townsville, and recently sold Larc at Hamilton.
Marketing agent Heath Williams of Place New Farm said there were six serious buyers on the property, who flew in from Sydney, the UK and Dubai to inspect it. There was also some local Brisbane interest.
“What sets Larc apart is the scarcity of such exquisitely designed and exceptionally built homes on the market, and with those breathtaking views, it was an irresistible combination,” Williams said.
The buyer of the five-bedroom, seven-bathroom mansion was not revealed. The property has three living areas, a gym, a five-car garage and a solar-heated pool.
AFL player and wife selling first home
Port Adelaide forward Jeremy Finlayson and his wife Kellie have listed their three-bedroom Hendon home with Ray White North Adelaide principal Rachel Lawrie.
The couple is selling the home as Kellie, who has colon cancer, requires in-home care, and needs a home with more space to accommodate her carers.
The property goes to auction on September 24 and Kellie said her favourite thing about the home at 5 Vickers Avenue, set on 671sq m, was the living room.
The house is in a brilliant location close to West Lakes Shore.
“It’s so dainty and beautiful, but with a lick of paint is also as modern as you’d need or like,” Kellie said.
“I’d say Jeremy’s favourite is the land size and the size of the shed, which he was able to turn into a man cave for the past couple years, typical bloke!”
Kellie said the home was immediately liveable but also had the potential to be extended.
