Surrounded by the Saddleback Mountain Range on the idyllic NSW south coast, long time Jamberoo residents Di and John Jennings are downsizing and have decided to market their Glenburn Homestead on the NSW south coast.

The recently renovated 1910 property has a $3.15m price tag on it through local agent Vivienne Marris of Elders Jamberoo and has attracted strong local interest.

The house has several ensuites with underfloor heating as well as four reverse cycle airconditioning units, double-sided combustion fireplaces to the kitchen and spacious lounge and dining rooms and fabulous gardens including vegetable and herb patches. There are 105,000-litre groundwater storage tanks and a separate loft and studio with toilet and shower. The three-bedroom property is on a 4300sq m site and includes a four car garage. Marris says the views will never be built out. Fronting Factory Lane, the property is near the bustling township of Kiama.

Beachfront development

Melbourne’s Dennis Family Corporation are understood to be in due diligence to buy one of the last remaining beachfront development sites on the eastern seaboard in the sleepy coastal suburb of Yaroomba, about 21km south of Noosa. The family, which has made its fortune from significant residential subdivisions across Melbourne, is understood to be looking to pay around $110m for the 18.5ha site near the Palmer Coolum resort. Subject to council approval, around 291 dwellings could be built on the beachfront site, including 112 detached dwellings, 41 terrace homes, 138 apartments and 500sq m of retail. But development of the site has attracted strong community opposition. The vendor is Japanese developer Sekisui House which at one stage was planning to build a $900m eco resort on the Sunshine Coast site. Marketing agent Brendan Hogan from Colliers did not return several of The Weekend Australian’s calls while a spokesman for the Dennis family said “they had no information on the matter”. The co-marketing agent is Ray White.

Ghost mansion

Toorak’s “ghost mansion” has sold for about $80m to 27-year-old cryptocurrency casino owner Ed Craven, co-founder of Stake.com, with the multi-millionaire expected to demolish the existing half built house and start again with a new house possibly worth up to $150m. As revealed by The Australian’s John Stensholt this week, the existing concrete shell on more than 7000sq m was recently sold in an off market transaction by buyers agent Kim Easterbrook.

The vendor of the partially completed St Georges Rd, Toorak property was David Yu, a property developer and director of Ausvest Holdings. The mansion had been on the market for around two years. The site was once owned by former Hoyts owner Leon Fink who commenced building but did not complete it. It is understood Mr Craven has hired architect Paul Conrad to design a new house.
