Set to spend more time in Hollywood, Melbourne entertainment industry power couple Jason Schepisi and Katherine McIntosh are selling their Yarra Ranges retreat. Schepisi is the Netflix producer son of director Fred Schepisi, and McIntosh, daughter of news presenter Sue McIntosh, has credits including directing The Real Housewives of Melbourne. They paid $940,000 for the Dixons Creek home in 2016. They secured approval for a new build, but have decided to sell the 4ha property. It comes after Schepisi’s eight-part series A Man Called Horse was picked up by Netflix. Schepisi, who is also an architect, has pretty much rebuilt the existing home. Renovated in a mid-century style, the home has two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Fletchers Yarra Ranges agent Richard Wines has a $1.27 million-$1.39m guide.

Modernist home up for grabs

An Eaglemont home designed in the late 1940s by Robert G. Warren, who was influenced by the Case Study school of Californian modernism, is for sale. It’s the home of ARM Architecture director Jesse Judd, who paid $925,000 12 years ago. The four-bedroom family home has been reinterpreted with classic 1950s signatures, notably a glazed brick entrance wall, a pixelated tribute to Howard Arkley’s Suburban Exterior. It sits in 870sq m in the Burley Griffin-designed Glenard Estate. Nelson Alexander Ivanhoe agents Liz Walker and Peter Stephens expect $2.25m-$2.45m at its September 14 auction.

Riverfront listing on the menu

Kim Peabody, wife of former Brisbane restaurateur TJ Peabody, son of Terry Peabody, has listed the couple’s sprawling Chelmer home. It cost $2.85m in 2003 when they were upgrading from St Lucia. Ray White New Farm agents Matt Lancashire and Meaghan Bakker have the riverfront listing. The grand family home, which won the Master Builders House of the Year in 2009, was designed by Harry Poulous Architects using elements of classic American architecture. Under the handcrafted Welsh slate roof lies seven bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a billiard room with a bar and a wine cellar. There’s two guest houses in the 2400sq m landscaped gardens that also feature a tennis court and swimming pool.

Fielding offers for stud property

Thoroughbred veterans Phil and Fiona Sloane are selling Ridgeview Stud, their rural Victorian equestrian property. The 104ha estate in Muskerry, near Bendigo, has turned out a number of winners from racehorses reared on the property. It was once home to 1989 Melbourne Cup winner Tawriffic. Phil Sloane recently accepted an appointment with a major thoroughbred stud close to his origins at Cootamundra. Ridgeview Park has a breeding barn of 19 stable boxes. There are several outbuildings, as well as a main four-bedroom double-brick homestead with pool. There’s also two cottages. Rodwells Ruralco agent Jeanette Laffan is considering offers for the property in conjunction with Pat Rice & Hawkins agent Matt Childs. They are expecting more than $900,000.
