Celebrity Melbourne agent John Castran has just started marketing Hill House at Anglers Rest in the Victorian High Country positioned between Dinner Plain and Falls Creek. Castran wants $700,000 for the 5ha property in one of Victoria’s most picturesque valleys overlooking the Bundera River Valley. The vendors are builder Steve Graves and Kath Graves and the property features prolific trout fishing. The off-grid Hill House is built from cedar and includes an open fireplace, plus a large combustion heater and gourmet kitchen. There are four large bedrooms and two fully renovated bathrooms. Outdoor living includes a fire pit and high-country bush seating. Additional improvements include a double garage and wood store. There are roof catchments for water into two 50,000-litre tanks. Hill House is sold with all furniture and fittings.
Miner offloads river frontage
Brisbane miner Australian Pacific Coal is offloading about $28m worth of rural holdings in the NSW Hunter Valley with a total of 5.5km frontage to the Hunter River, deeming the land surplus to its requirements. Selling agent Chris Meares, of Meares & Associates, reckons one of the offerings, the Kayuga Homestead Farm, a seven-bedroom Georgian revival homestead built in 1932, a sandstone manager’s residence and a separate cottage on 224ha, will fetch between $6m and $6.5m. Expressions of interest close on October 29. Kayuga had previously been run as a leading dairy operation and its homestead is billed as one of the most prestigious properties in the Upper Hunter Valley.
Bodybuilder weighs in with $27m
Former bodybuilder Danny Pavlovich, who runs Nutrition Systems, has sealed his $27.5m purchase of a riverfront estate in Perth, which includes lush landscaped gardens, a resort-style pool on a 6406sq m site spread over six titles. The vendor, Sue Gibson, is relocating to the NSW Southern Highlands to run a quarterhorse stud. The sale of the six-bedroom property at 89 Watkins Road, Dalkeith, was negotiated by Ray White agent Jody Fewster, daughter of the late Alan Bond. The property features underground parking for 12 cars and CCTV with infra-red along with a 10,000-bottle wine cellar and tasting room.
Tree change for wind farmer
With plans to head to the NSW north coast, the owners of 9 Romani Avenue, Riverview, in Sydney, have listed their property with an asking price of $2.9m through Belle Property Lane Cove agents Simon Harrison and Kim Walters. The vendor is Nigel Bean, head of development at Vestas, the world’s largest wind turbine manufacturer and wind-farm developer. The Beans have owned the property for nine years and are selling to make a tree change. “This house had humble beginnings post-WWII,” says Nigel. “Our neighbour, aged in her 90s, remembers it being built and extended twice to create the spacious, light and comfortable home that it now is. For us, one of its greatest features is proximity to Tambourine Bay where our children are part of the Sea Scout group.” The property features a spacious family living area and downstairs rumpus area, four bedrooms, two full bathrooms and a solar saltwater pool. It will be auctioned on October 19.
