$5.5m apartment sale in Noosa
Noosa’s busy apartment market has seen another prestige sale, with a $5.5m beachfront deal.
Noosa’s busy apartment market has seen another prestige sale, with a $5.5m beachfront deal. It was an off-market sale of the strip’s best known apartment, The Starlight Suite in the Netanya beachfront resort on Hastings Street. Its whisper-quiet sale was through Richardson & Wrench Noosa agents Shane McCauley and Frank Milat. The three-bedroom penthouse with a study and two private terraces previously belonged to Mike Chapman, the famed songwriter who wrote the words for the Tina Turner hit, Simply the Best. Chapman bought a one and a two-bedroom apartment, before commissioning Joan Moore of JDM Designs to create the combined 145sq m space with 100sq m of terraces. It last sold for $3.65m in 2014. Last year the now US-based Chapman sold Cintamani, his Noosa hinterland weekender, for $4.25m. Noosa’s busy Hastings Street recently saw a record $8.25m sale, a three-bedroom apartment in Twenty Three Hastings, earlier this year. There’s a record $11m apartment being sought in the Noosa Court block through Tom Offermann Real Estate agent Roark Walsh.
Wallaby’s legend lists home
Brisbane-based Wallabies legend Stephen Moore has listed his recently completed Paddington home. Moore, wife Courtney and their three kids moved from Bardon to Paddington upon the home’s completion. The former Australian captain had paid $1.4m for what was a rundown 1930s cottage in 2009 shortly after joining the Brumbies in the ACT. He returned to Queensland to close out his career at the Reds and get to work on the new home. Designed by Tim Stewart and built by Graya Construction, the ultra-modern home has five bedrooms and three bathrooms across its three levels. The living space opens to the outdoor entertaining area, lawn, and pool. The master wing, complete with ensuite and study nook, is accessed by a bridge. Ray White New Farm agents Matt Lancashire and Josh Brown have the listing. Following his retirement in 2017, Moore moved into the corporate world. He is general manager for corporate and commercial at The North Australian Pastoral Company.
