$100m-plus jewel topping Crown’s Barangaroo tower
Crown has reignited its marketing campaign to sell the two-level, $100m-plus penthouse atop its Barangaroo Sydney tower.
Crown has reignited its marketing campaign to sell the two-level, $100m-plus penthouse atop its Barangaroo Sydney tower. With more than 800sq m of space, The Penthouse has 360-degree views of Sydney Harbour, the Blue Mountains and Pacific Ocean and is the most expensive apartment in the 82-unit tower. It has several entertaining areas with 6m floor-to-ceiling windows, five bedrooms, all with ensuite bathrooms, a master suite with large walk-in robes, twin rain shower and steam room, separate office, private plunge pool, cinema room, gym and more than 50sq m of open air space across three protected balconies. A staircase connects the two floors, as does a private internal lift. Other Barangaroo residents include James Packer, whose $60m penthouse is yet to settle. And proving there is money around for penthouses, “king of the dumpsters” Ian Malouf apparently had a good look at Crown’s tower but opted to purchase John Boyd’s penthouse atop the ANZ tower, paying about $60m through his cousin Bill Malouf of LJ Hooker Double Bay. Knight Frank’s Erin van Tuil is marketing the Crown penthouse.

Love in the air for retreat
Prominent Tasmanian tourism identity Brett Torossi has listed her Rocky Hills Retreat on the Tasman Highway northwest of Hobart with hopes of more than $2m for the 124ha property. Designed by award-winning architect Craig Rosevear, the apartment is ideal as a honeymoon retreat, fetching as much as $600 a night. Torossi is hoping to cash in to make more tourism investments in the Apple Isle. Knight Frank agent John Blacklow is handling the expressions-of-interest campaign closing on September 2. The property, 117km from Hobart, also features a separate art studio and has views over Great Oyster Bay and Freycinet Peninsula.
Gurner lists his penthouse
Celebrity Melbourne developer Tim Gurner has listed his Albert Park penthouse with a $4.5m guide, saying he has never seen such demand for luxury apartments. The 300sq m penthouse at the developer’s sold-out and completed Albert Place Residences project has 180-degree views over the CBD and Albert Park Lake. It was leased for $260,000 a year, or $5000 a week, to a private business professional last year. Gurner has put the property on the market after witnessing the increasing demand for luxury penthouses at his off-the-plan projects across Melbourne such as Victoria & Vine and St Moritz. The Agency’s Michael Paproth is running the marketing campaign.

Covid delays auction of old inn
Journalist Pip Orr has delayed the auction of her house, a former Cobb & Co Inn in historic Millthorpe just outside Orange in the NSW Central Tablelands, until August 6 in the hope that Sydneysiders interested in the four-bedroom stone cottage can get the opportunity to view it. Fronting Forest Reefs Rd, the historic 1850-built property covers nearly 4ha. Selling agent Stewart Murphy, of Ray White Bathurst, says there’s already interest, even though Millthorpe and Orange are in lockdown.
