Winners & Losers wins for Seven

THE X Factor continued its dominance of Tuesday nights for Seven as Winners & Losers popped in the lead-up to its finale.

THE X Factor continued its dominance of Tuesday evenings in a big night for Seven.

The network’s local drama Winners & Losers also popped to 1.168 million metropolitan viewers after The X Factor’s Live Results won the night with an average of 1.343 million viewers.

Seven won Tuesday with a 25.0 per cent all-people share ahead of Nine’s 19.7 per cent, ABC1’s 12.1 per cent and Ten’s 11.5 per cent. Seven won among 25-to-54 year-olds with a 25.3 per cent share ahead of Nine’s 22.5 per cent and Ten’s 13.3 per cent.

It was another consistent result for The X Factor but Winners & Losers added almost 250,000 on last week for its best result of the series. It was also the top show among 25-to-54 year-olds.

Nine News (1.182 million) nudged out Seven News (1.164 million) at 6pm while A Current Affair (938,000) beat Today Tonight (921,000). Nine News stretched its lead in Melbourne to 111,000 and ACA extended it to 125,000 at 6.30pm.

In the battle of the early-evening game shows, Nine's Hot Seat (591,000) beat Seven’s Million Dollar Minute (576,000)  - but only just. Hot Seat won in Melbourne and Brisbane but MDM won in Adelaide and Perth, with the Sydney audience split.

Nine’s Big Brother is humming with another 923,000 and the network's new UK comedy series starring David Walliams and Catherine Tate, Big School, opened with a respectable 794,000, ranking fifth among 25-to-54 year-olds.

Network Ten had no post-7.30pm programs in the top 20 - its best being Ten Eyewitness News (609,000) and The Project’s 570,000. US drama Sleepy Hollow had 525,000 viewers.
