THE Seven Network won a weak nightÂs television viewing as some Tuesday night interlopers pulled solid audiences.
The continued value of Seven’s factual entertainment suite was displayed again as The Force - Behind The Line and Border Security - Australia’s Front Line dropped into the Tuesday night schedule and earned the biggest non-news audiences of the night: 1.127 million and 1.092 million respectively.
Seven’s local drama Winners and Losers again registered just over one million viewers (1.001 million) in the five capital cities, ensuring Seven led the night in all people with a 22.1 per cent share.
Nine News topped the evening with 1.207 million metropolitan viewers, ahead of Seven News’ 1.182 million, with victories in Sydney and Melbourne only.
Nine had an 18.0 per cent share in all people (its sixth consecutive Tuesday under 20 per cent) ahead of ABC1’s 15.3 per cent and Ten’s 13.8 per cent. Seven also won among 25-to-54 year-olds with a 22.4 per cent channel share against Nine’s 20.6 per cent.
ABC1 recorded its best Tuesday since the start of the year with the interview special about Clive James The Kid From Kogorah, earning 945,000 viewers in an 8.30pm timeslot that has averaged 750,000 viewers with New Tricks. 7.30, hosted by Leigh Sales, had its best audience since early July (852,000).
Network Ten had a shocker with new reality cooking series Recipe To Riches not registering within the top 20 programs, attracting fewer than 590,000 viewers. Ten News At Five also had a rare evening outside the top 20 programs. But Under The Dome lifted from last week by 126,000 viewers in the five capital cities to 773,000.
Australia’s Next Top Model was the top show on pay-TV with 107,000, ahead of AFL360’s 106,000.
