Seven trounces a Voice-less Nine

SEVEN trounced a Voice-less Nine last night and looks likely to record another weekly win as Nine's late evening schedule faded.

THE Seven network trounced a Voice-less Nine network on Wednesday night and looks likely to record another weekly win.

My Kitchen Rules added almost half a million viewers on last Wednesday to rank top for the night, with 630,000 more viewers than the next best, Seven News, with 1.26 million.

Nine will rue a weekly loss during The Voice’s run but despite the singing competition’s success, Nine has been unable to put "scoreboard pressure" on Seven this week with the rest of its schedule flagging against Seven's consistency.

While The Big Bang Theory recorded serviceable numbers after 7pm - with 1.194 million, 1.063 million and 870,000 for its three episodes - Nine's schedule fell away after 8.30pm.

The Following continued its slide down to 589,000 whereas Seven’s Criminal Minds almost logged a million (966,000) for Seven in the 8.30pm drama slot. Ten’s Mr & Mrs Murder was up on last week with 551,000 but still below its season average.

Seven News nudged Nine News by 48,000 nationally in the five metropolitan markets although Nine News won convincingly again in Sydney and Melbourne. A Current Affair beat Today Tonight with 1.091 million against 954,000.

Seven won the night with a 27.7 per cent share in all people against Nine’s 18.6 per cent channel share, ABC1’s 11.9 per cent and Ten’s 11.0 per cent.
