MY Kitchen Rules cooked up another audience of 1.9 million for Seven as SBS again lifted to a six per cent share.

SBS ONE managed a 6.3 per cent channel share, well above its four per cent averages; an episode of genealogy series Who Do You Think You Are? featuring comedian Adam Hills cracked the top 20 shows with 522,000 viewers while Insight grabbed another 323,000.

Seven’s relentless cooking show had its best Tuesday audience since the first week of March giving Seven a 28.6 per cent channel share ahead of Nine’s 14.5 per cent, ABC1’s 13.9 per cent and Ten’s 13.6 per cent. Seven won the 25-54 years demographic by 16 percentage points and 18-49 by 17 points.

Seven’s solid year was underlined by its ability to screen the five-year-old comedy film, Knocked Up, and still beat Nine and Ten in the timeslot with 631,000 viewers in the metropolitan markets, according to preliminary OzTAM figures. In February, Seven earned 892,000 viewers on a Wednesday night for the film The Proposal. By comparison, Nine’s movie, Angels & Demons, averaged 371,000 viewers.

Today Tonight beat A Current Affair convincingly nationally and lifted to parity with its Nine rival in Sydney and Melbourne. Nine News won well in Sydney and Melbourne but lost nationally to Seven News.

On Ten, The Project continues to slowly build its audience while on the ABC, ABC News attracted its third audience of more than one million for the year.

On pay-TV, the US drama The Walking Dead continued its progression to top the platform with 147,000 viewers for FX the day after the season three premiere of Game of Thrones had 200,000 viewers for Showcase.
