Seven edges out Nine thanks to late evening viewing

SEVEN nudged out the Nine Network to win a quiet Wednesday night's TV ratings despite not coming first in any time slot before 8pm.

SEVEN nudged out the Nine Network to win a quiet Wednesday night's TV ratings despite not coming first in any time slot before 8pm.

The Block Sky High edged ahead of House Rules and Nine News again led the country with 1.349 million viewers in the five capital city markets, OzTAM preliminary data showed.

A Current Affair dropped to 1.071 million but still led Today Tonight marginally (1.011 million) before leading into The Block Sky High (1.233 million).

That solid block from 6pm helped Nine to a 21.6 per cent channel share, which was just topped by Seven’s 21.7 per cent. Ten had a 13.2 per cent share ahead of ABC1’s 13.1 per cent.

Nine’s US drama Arrow continues to hit the mark with 852,000 viewers while Seven’s Criminal Minds scored 774,000 with another 641,000 for a repeat. Ten’s Aussie drama Offspring managed 770,000.
