THE Seven Network recorded its best Sunday share since April as Nine's audience fell away.

Perhaps it was the halo effect from Saturday’s big AFL Grand Final audience but Seven recorded a 28.2 per cent five capital-city share, its second-best Sunday share in the official ratings period.

The X Factor’s Live Performance rose from the last two weeks to 1.543 million viewers and current affairs program Sunday Night jumped to 1.391 million viewers, its second-best audience for the year and best since May.

Meanwhile, Nine’s 60 Minutes slumped to 878,000 viewers - its worst result for the year - although Australia’s Got Talent rose slightly compared with last Sunday to 1.010 million. Its movie The Lincoln Lawyer averaged 413,000 viewers.

Nine had a 20.0 per cent share, its lowest Sunday since August, ahead of Ten's 13.4 per cent and ABC1’s 10.7 per cent. Seven won among 25-to-54 year-olds with a 28.8 per cent channel share ahead of Nine’s 20.8 per cent and Ten’s 16.8 per cent. 7mate was the top multichannel with a 4.5 per cent share.

On Ten, new Modern Family episodes drew the comedy's best audience since February (802,000 and 681,000). The return of US drama Elementary also picked up above where it left off in July, with 736,000 metropolitan viewers. Great Bear Stakeout with Billy Connolly held last week’s audience of 417,000.

At ABC1, the second episode of ABC’s co-production with HBO Asia, Serangoon Road, slumped more than 220,000 viewers to 507,000, giving the channel its worst Sunday share since May.
