Tony Abbott’s former chief of staff Peta Credlin has had a spectacular on-air spray at her Sky News colleagues, labelling them “piss and wind” for their musings about the Liberal Party leadership.
Ms Credlin, who was thrown out of politics into the commentariat when the former prime minister was deposed in 2013, reacted angrily when it was suggested Immigration Minister Peter Dutton could be the next party leader.
She lashed out at the entire panel on Paul Murray Live — made up of Murray, Sky News host Laura Jayes, and former Gillard government adviser Nicholas Reece — telling them she was the only one who knew what was happening in the Liberal Party.
“Journos, journos, journos and a Labor outsider,” Ms Credlin said.
“No one is going to tell you in the Liberal Party what is going on.
“They are more likely, the conservatives, to tell me and I think you are all piss and wind.”

Murray, a strong supporter of Mr Abbott, cut short the outburst, interrupting Ms Credlin mid-sentence to go to an early ad break.
“Thank you let’s take a break here on Paul Murray Live, more in a sec,” he said.
Mr Dutton said this week he had ambitions to one day lead the Liberal Party but that he was loyal to Malcolm Turnbull.
“You don’t sign up to play for the Wallabies or the Socceroos or for the Australian cabinet to not be leader or have the opportunity to become leader one day,” Mr Dutton said.
