Nine Entertainment Company has undertaken a management restructure to reflect a fast-changing media landscape.
Alex Parsons, managing director of Nine’s digital media division Mi9, will take on an expanded role in the newly created position of chief digital and marketing officer.
Peter Wiltshire, the group sales and marketing director, will become the chief revenue officer for Nine Entertainment Co.
In an email to staff obtained by The Australian, Nine chief David Gyngell said the move reflected an “increased focus on core revenue growth across the broadcast and digital assets” as brands demanded cross-platform ad packages in a fragmented marketplace. The changes mirror a similar move by Nine’s rival Seven West Media.
“Over the past few months he (Wiltshire) has implemented a restructure of the team, and now has a fully integrated NEC sales operation across the country,” he said.
“This is a major step in the way we see the future for advertisers ... the team is migrating to adapt to the rapidly changing needs of our clients and agencies.”
