News Corp extends sponsorship deal with Paralympics Australia
The media company has extended its sponsorship deal with Paralympics Australia, which will ensure inspiring stories about the nation’s athletes are shared with millions of people.
Many inspiring stories will be told about Australia’s top athletes competing at next year’s Paris Paralympics and the Paralympic Winter Games after a new sponsorship deal was signed.
News Corp Australia (publisher of The Australian) has extended its sponsorship of Paralympics Australia, ensuring the athletes’ remarkable feats will be shared widely.
Paralympics Australia chief executive Catherine Clark welcomed the sponsorship extension, which she said would keep millions of Australians up to date with news and information about the nation’s Paralympians.
“We’re thrilled to join with News Corp Australia once again to help get the message out about our amazing athletes, the Paralympic movement and the upcoming Games in Paris and Milano-Cortina,” she said.
“So much of the power behind Paralympic sport lies in the stories of our athletes. Paralympians are unlike any other athletes in the way they emotionally connect with people.”
News Corp Australasia executive chairman Michael Miller said the sponsorship agreement highlighted the company’s continued investment in covering all sports via local news websites, the nation’s top mastheads including The Australian and CODE Sports.
“For too long the Paralympics were treated by mainstream media as an afterthought, but we are determined to continue championing this most extraordinary event comprising some of the most inspiring individuals you could hope to meet,” he said.
