MASTERCHEF improved on Monday nightÂs performance but is simmering below the magic million viewers mark, attracting an audience of 860,000 for Ten last night.
Nine and Seven continued to battle for the renovation audience with Nine’s The Block Sky High coming out on top with 1.183 million to House Rules’s 1.031 million, according to preliminary OzTAM data.
Nine News was the top-rating program with 1.358 million viewers to Seven News’s 1.208 million, while A Current Affair also beat Today Tonight.
Despite that, Seven won the night on a channel share (21.2 per cent) and network share (28.5 per cent) basis due to its strength in the later part of the evening with drama Packed to the Rafters attracting 1.123 million across the five capital cities.
Nine’s share was 19.4 per cent, rising to 26.0 per cent including its multichannels.
Ten’s channel share of 15.5 per cent put it third, boosted by NCIS, which was its top show with 875,000. Its network share was 20.3 per cent.
The ABC’s top programs were its evening news bulletin (907,000) and New Tricks (733,000), giving it a channel share of 15.5 per cent and a network share of 20.3 per cent.
SBS’s main channel performed strongly thanks to Australia’s football World Cup qualifier against Japan, which was viewed by close to half a million and helped boost SBS1 to a share of 8.7 per cent (9.5 per cent across all channels).
