Home shows keep TV embers burning
THE Nine Network logged another nightly win in all people on a limp Thursday night's TV viewing.
THE Nine Network logged another nightly win in all people on a limp Thursday night's TV viewing.
Only four programs had more than one million "live" viewers in the five capital cities, with two of the shows home renovation contests.
Seven’s House Rules has rejuvenated itself with steady audiences around the one million mark now (1.007 million last night), up 100,000 viewers on last week’s audiences. And after the steady growth of its mother, My Kitchen Rules, it would be foolish to believe it might not continue to build its audience.
Nine’s The Block Sky High, which airs half an hour earlier, replicated last week’s pattern of its audience gradually dropping off as the week progressed, finishing with 1.087 million last night to rank third among all programs, and win its timeslot. The following episode of The Block Unlocked, only managed 807,000 viewers.
Nine News and Seven News again topped the night with 1.242 million and 1.137 million viewers respectively with Nine News winning by 86,000 in Sydney and 143,000 in Melbourne.
Nine won the night with a 23.2 per cent share in all people against Seven’s 21.3 per cent. Ten followed with a 13.3 per cent share, ABC1’s 12.2 per cent and SBS One’s 5.2 per cent helped by Little Paris Kitchen’s 321,000 viewers.
Nine won the key 25-54 years advertising demographic with a 25.7 per cent share against Seven’s 20.1 per cent and Ten’s 14.4 per cent.
The UK comedy Mrs Brown’s Boys lifted from last week for Seven (924,000), as did Nine’s The Footy Show (856,000) with a big increase in Melbourne and a drop in Sydney.
ABC1’s consumer affairs program The Checkout, concluded its season with its second best audience of the year, 882,000, and confirmation it is ABC1’s best new program of 2013.
