As its end nears, fans of Game of Thrones are lapping up the last few episodes of the final season of American fantasy drama television series on Foxtel.
The fourth episode of the final season was watched by around 1.34 million across Foxtel’s pay-television platform and streaming video-on-demand services, Foxtel Go and Now.
About 928,000 people watched the show on Foxtel’s Fox Showcase and Fox Showcase +2 channels throughout Monday and the remaining 410,000 viewed it on Foxtel’s streaming services, according to figures from Foxtel.
The fourth episode, entitled, Last of the Starks, has been highly contentious among fans on social media, with many spotting a takeaway coffee cup, apparently from US chain Starbucks, on the table in front of Emilia Clarke during the feast scene.
The premiere of the eighth and final season of Game of Thrones set new records for Foxtel last month, with 1.29 million watching via Foxtel’s box and streaming services. Around 962,000 viewers watched the first episode Winterfell on April 15 on Foxtel, and 333,000 across Foxtel’s streaming services.
The landmark series has two episodes left before its conclusion.
