Foxtel Group has announced a multi-year agreement with American-based company World Wrestling Entertainment in a move that will bring fans live events.

The new agreement will deliver viewers a range of WWE’s popular content including its weekly flagship programs Raw, SmackDown and NXT on its Main Event channel.

The three shows will also continue to be viewed on Foxtel’s Fox8 and Fox Sports channels each week and be made available on demand.

Foxtel Group’s commercial director of sports Rebecca McCloy said the extension to the long-term partnership is a huge win for viewers – about 31 per cent of Foxtel’s audience views WWE content.

“We are excited to extend our long-term partnership with WWE, bringing all the amazing WWE action, personalities and theatre to the Foxtel Group’s 2.4 million sports subscribers. “We know our Foxtel customers love WWE.

“Our new sports streaming service Kayo now has over one million subscribers which is seeing a whole new audience of Australian sports fans entertained by WWE’s universe of superstars including Roman Reigns, Bobby Lashley, Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair.”

Foxtel Group’s Streaming Video on Demand (SVOD) services including Kayo Sports and Foxtel Now will also continue to include WWE viewing.

WWE vice president Jay Li said it was great to see Foxtel continue to provide great live entertainment for viewers.

“For more than 20 years Foxtel has shared our passion for engaging and entertaining fans throughout Australia,” he said.

“We are pleased to renew our partnership and look forward to continuing to provide WWE’s unique blend of action-packed, family-friendly entertainment.”
