Foxtel names Paul Edwards as chief communications officer
Foxtel has bolstered its executive team with former ANZ veteran Paul Edwards.
Pay TV group Foxtel has bolstered its executive team by hiring former ANZ veteran Paul Edwards as chief communications officer.
Chief executive Patrick Delany said the appointment of Mr Edwards, who spent nearly 22 years at ANZ before moving to Commonwealth Bank last year, strengthened Foxtel’s communications team at a crucial time as the company pursued its ambitious business transformation.
“Paul’s extensive business and communications experience adds an important skill set to our management team at a time when engagement with external stakeholders and our own people about our strategy has never been more important,” he said in a statement.
“We are already seeing positive momentum in strengthening Foxtel for the future and we look forward to Paul’s contribution as part of our strengthened communications team.”
Mr Edwards will report directly to Mr Delany, and joins the broader News Corp Australia communications team, led by group executive of corporate affairs, policy and government relations Campbell Reid.
Mr Edwards has been a senior advisor in group corporate affairs at CBA since early 2018, and previously led ANZ’s corporate communications with group-wide responsibility for communications strategy, media relations, internal communications and digital and social media.
He has also worked at mining giant BHP and in public relations consultancy.
