A DELAYED telecast of the Socceroos World Cup qualifier against Oman pushed SBS ONE to its best result for the year and had 186,000 viewers on Fox Sports.
The delayed telecast on SBS averaged 306,000 viewers, giving the public broadcaster a 5.6 per cent channel share for the night, according to preliminary OzTAM figures.
Overall viewing was down for most programs on what was a non-ratings Tuesday night in the run-up to Easter. Seven logged another win with a 23.1 per cent channel share against Nine’s 17.5 per cent, Ten’s 14.9 per cent and ABC1’s 13.7 per cent.
Nine News topped the night with 1.2 million viewers in the capital cities, ahead of Seven News’ 1.111 million, with Nine grabbing sizeable wins along the east coast.
Packed To The Rafters was the second highest-ranking program in all people with 1.199 million, although this was almost 200,000 down on its season average.
Ten’s The Biggest Loser is weighing in nicely as its competitors’ big guns take an Easter break. It clocked an audience of 922,000 to win the 7.30pm slot and rank top in 16-39 years demographic. Home & Away won the 7pm half hour while Seven’s RSPCA Animal Rescue performed well with 901,000 viewers on its return to 7.30pm.
A Current Affair’s interview with Ellen DeGeneres and Portia Di Rossi gave ACA a win at 6.30pm with 1.003 million viewers. It wasn’t Nine’s best night however, with repeat episodes of The Big Bang Theory only managing 748,000 and 626,000 viewers, and 2 Broke Girls attracting just 533,000.
