The 12-year-old company WTFN Entertainment is best known as producer of Network Ten series Bondi Vet and The Living Room, Tony Robinson's Time Walks and the Logie-winning documentary Trishna and Krishna.
It acquired Keddie’s Melbourne-based drama and film company in a deal in which The Film Company will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of WTFN. TFC principal Richard Keddie will join the WTFN board as director of drama and features.
WTFN chief executive Daryl Talbot said he was "delighted to be taking the next step in the development of WTFN" and extending the company’s range across branded, factual, light entertainment and scripted genres.
"We know from experience that broadcasters appreciate WTFN's ability to deliver quality programs, and we'll now be able to offer them the same service in the scripted space," he said.
Keddie’s drama and feature film credits include Hawke for Ten and Curtin for the ABC, mini-series including My Brother Jack, and feature films including Little Fish and the recently-released Goddess. He is also a member of the Screen Australia Board.
"For some time I have been seeking to develop a drama production studio model that can sustain and grow a drama business and the WTFN business model is perfect," Keddie said in a statement
Among current projects, WTFN is developing a light entertainment format for the ABC with Paper Giants award-winner, Rob Carlton.
