Anthony Mundine quits I’m A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here after Danny Green feud

The bitter feud between Danny Green and Anthony Mundine has flared, as they staged their version of the rumble in the jungle.

Anthony Mundine has quit I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here! after an apparent row with long-time boxing rival Danny Green.

Mundine today revealed he had quit the Network Ten’s program, being staged in a jungle in South Africa, saying he missed his family. It follows the abrupt exit of controversial tennis player Bernard Tomic after just a few days.

The latest incident came after Mundine and Green, who have fought each other twice in blockbuster boxing events, took part in the “Viper Room challenge”, in which the pair were buried by snakes.

Mundine went in as one of the original contestants on this year’s program, while Green was sent in later in an attempt to spice up proceedings on set.

The host of I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here!, Chris Brown, later cast doubt on Mundine’s version of events.

“He was down there (buried) with his old adversary Danny Green and we thought it might bring the two of them together, but in fact it appears to have torn them apart,” Brown told Nova’s Fitzy & Wippa this morning.

“We thought he had taken it (the challenge) in his stride but they’ve gone back to camp, he’s had a disagreement with Danny Green and walked out of camp.

“In typical Mundine style he has stormed out.”

Mundine and Green have dominated Australia’s boxing scene for years. They fought in 2006, a bout won by Mundine in a unanimous points decision.

A long-awaited rematch took place in February last year, and on that occasion Green reversed the result, also on points.

Both bouts generated millions of dollars for each fighter.
