Designed for property tycoons Amanda Kenny and Damian Fitzpatrick, this Neutral Bay apartment is fitted with the most luxurious, signature touches.

The chic new development coming to Bowral

Designed for property tycoons Amanda Kenny and Damian Fitzpatrick to eventually move on from their family home, their Neutral Bay apartment is fitted out with the most luxurious, signature touches like heated floors, a private study and Vintec wine fridge.

After purchasing 5.01/20 Premier St, Neutral Bay, in late 2019 off the plan, Ms Kenny thought the property could be a future opportunity for downsizing, if they decided to move from their Balmoral home, also in Sydney, which they built 25 years ago.

“So we just thought, we’ll hedge our bets, so to speak, and see what might come of it,” she said.

Spread across 181sq m, the apartment was “very much in a residence style,” Ms Kenny said, with a living area at one end, bedrooms running down the easterly side and the main bedroom at the end – all of which Ms Kenny and Mr Fitzpatrick have specced up.

Construction was impacted quite significantly due to Covid and was eventually completed in August by Richards Stanisich interiors.

Ms Kenny and Mr Fitzpatrick came to the realisation they weren’t quite ready to downsize, with their children yet to leave the nest, deciding to take advantage of the hot market and put it up for sale. Despite being in the thoroughfare of Neutral Bay, “it’s still very tranquil,” Ms Kenny said, located in the middle of the city with “terrific amenity and accessibility to everything”.

It was only minutes to reach the city from Neutral Bay and was also perfect for empty nesters who may have homes in the Southern Highlands or the central coast, Ms Kenny said, as future home buyers could jump straight on the expressway.

Approaching the entrance and walking through the foyer of the apartment, there is the option to turn right towards the living space or left where the bedrooms, study and laundry can be found.

In the kitchen, a Zip Tap and induction and gas stove tops are available for use above a large, 90cm oven, but the statement piece would have to be the full granite, end-to-end island, which was “so unbelievable,” Mr Fitzpatrick said.

The hidden butler’s pantry features a combi steam and microwave oven as well as a large side-by-side freezer and fridge, “which for a three-bedroom is terrific,” Ms Kenny said.

Ample natural light pours in from the easterly sun through the skylights as well as the sliding doors which open all the way up to offer indoor-outdoor entertaining, under complete cover.

Signature touches which were specced up during construction were the heated limestone flooring that extends throughout the apartment, the Jetmaster fireplace, the only one in the apartment block, and heated towel racks in each bathroom.

Whether stepping on to the balcony or choosing to slide the door completely open, bringing the outside in, crystal clear views of Sydney’s CBD and the Harbour Bridge can be enjoyed from almost any angle.

Despite being an apartment, there is an abundance of storage which lines the hallway on the westerly wall.

“The hallway (also) lends itself to an art gallery,” said Ms Kenny, who has temporarily lined the walls with her and her husband’s collected artwork.

Down the hallway two bedrooms can be found along the easterly wall which offer plenty of storage and space, with in-built and illuminated closets.

The laundry room is fitted with a Miele dual washer and dryer, as well as a deep basin and again, ample closet space for storage.

At the secluded, back end of the apartment, a study is tucked away next to the main bedroom, and is fitted with a long stone benchtop and shelves that extend to each wall.

Entering the main bedroom, to the left is a sizeable walk-in wardrobe, fitted with shoe racks, and an abundance of storage that illuminates when the cupboards are opened. Sliding doors also extend the room to another private balcony.

Despite a change to the floorplan to create a separate study, the room is still large enough to fit a kingsize bed.

The “absolute hotel style ensuite”, as Ms Kenny described it, features a large bath and separately enclosed shower, offering both hand held and rainfall showers, and toilet. The benchtop has double basins, under bench storage and a couple of vanities, continuing the apartment’s theme of stone, limestone and timber.

“It’s absolute luxury to the ’nth degree,” Ms Kenny said. Listed with agents Adrian Bridges and Aleks Gerlach from Atlas by LJ Hooker, the apartment is priced around $5m.
