Commonwealth Bank internet banking hit by outage
An outage has left CBA customers unable to access online accounts and forced some branches to close.
Commonwealth Bank’s internet banking services have been hit with an outage, leaving customers unable to access their online accounts and forcing it to temporarily shut some branches.
According to CBA, it is working on resolving the issue that has knocked out payments services – PAY-ID and BPAY – on the bank’s app and website.
The bank confirmed the technical glitch on social media around midday, as CBA customers vented their frustration.
Hi there, we are currently experiencing an issue affecting some of our services. We are urgently investigating this and weâre sorry for any inconvenience caused. We will provide further updates here. ^Nat

However, customers can still take money out of ATMs using their cards and also pay for goods and services through EFTPOS.
“Our credit card and debit cards are working,” a CBA spokesman told The Australian.
The outage has also affected some in-branch functions and inbound call centre services.
“Due to this incident some of our branches have temporarily closed,” CBA said in a statement.
