Embattled Westpac is dominating social media platform Twitter on Tuesday morning, with its departing chief executive Brian Hartzer the number one topic.
The name of failed energy company Enron was in third spot locally on Twitter, which is usually dominated by celebrities, after The Australian reported that Mr Hartzer told his executives on Monday that the bank's pedophile money scandal was "not an Enron or Lehman Brothers".

The latter was a US bank that collapsed during the global financial crisis in 2008.
Mr Hartzer also told executives that mainstream Australia was not overly concerned so "we don't need to overcook this".

Twitter is awash with news posts and comments about Mr Hartzer and Westpac.
Michael Rowland, co-host of ABC News Breakfast, said the comments "will go down as Brian Hartzer's 'Prince Andrew Interview' moment".

Mr Hartzer will step down on December 2, and receive $2.69 million in lieu of 12 months notice but won't receive any bonuses, according to Westpac.
