A forecast of “severe weather” has led to Brisbane Roar’s scheduled A-League clash against Melbourne Victory at Moreton Daily Stadium on Friday night being postponed.

With the heavy rain and storms that have hit South East Queensland this week expected to continue, A-League officials made the decision on Thursday morning to postpone the match before the Victory was due to fly out of Melbourne.

However, the teams will meet at AAMI Park in Melbourne on Monday night in a revised fixture that was scheduled to take place on January 2 before being postponed due to the ramifications of Covid-19.

The last-placed Roar are hopeful that captain Tom Aldred, who is yet to play in the A-League this season due to knee and calf injuries, will be fit for the match.

The Victory is aiming for back-to-back wins after snapping a three-match losing streak with a 1-0 win over the Central Coast Mariners last weekend.
