Easter break brings warmer weather to Australia’s south east coast
Warmer weather is expected across large parts of Australia over the Easter break with some areas expected to reach the mid 30s.
Warmer weather is in store for Australia’s south east coast over the Easter long weekend.
Large parts of Victoria, South Australia and western NSW are expecting temperatures in the low to mid 30s.
Parts of Tasmania and eastern areas of the NSW and the ACT are also expecting the mercury to hover around the mid to high 20s.
Storms are expected in the Top End, while it is expected to stay dry for the southern parts of Australia as it gets warmer in the lead up to Easter.
Out west, there a chance of a tropical cyclone over the Easter weekend but it’s not expected to impact the West Australian mainland.
In Queensland, a coastal trough is expected to move close to the east coast, which will bring more rain.
The heavier falls are expected in the Wide Bay–Burnett and Capricornia regions and possibly south east Queensland.

In Victoria, warm conditions are expected to start on Good Friday and continue through the weekend, before cooling off.
Bureau of Meteorology senior forecaster Miriam Bradbury said the state’s central and eastern parts would reach a top in the high 20s, with Melbourne forecast for 28 degrees on Good Friday.
However, in the western districts it could get up into the low 30s, with 33 in Mildura.
Sunny weather will continue on Easter Saturday where it could get even warmer, with a top of 30 expected in Melbourne.
Northerly winds will bring a mostly dry change and possibly some showers across the south west coast and Gippsland on Sunday.
“The main change we’re expecting to see is that temperatures will cool off in the south, so by Easter Sunday our maximum temperatures are expected to be in the low to mid 20s across southern parts of state,” Ms Bradbury said.
“However, that cooler air won’t quite reach the north, so we’re still expecting temperatures in the mid 30s north of the ranges.”
