Dandenong drink-driver: Man six times limit sitting at green light
A disorientated drink-driver has been busted more than six times the limit after he was spotted sitting at a green light.
A driver has been busted more than six times the legal blood alcohol limit after he was spotted sitting at a green light in Melbourne's southeast.
Frontline Tactical Unit police were patrolling in Dandenong about 12.15am on Monday when they noticed a car swerving within its lane on the Princes Highway.
The driver then stopped at a green traffic light for an unusually long period of time before slowly driving off.
Sergeant Julie-Anne Newman said officers pulled over the Dandenong North man who was taken to a nearby police station where he blew .313 during an evidentiary breath test.
She said the 38-year-old’s licence was immediately suspended and his red Hyundai impounded for 30 days.
The man is expected to be charged on summons for drink-driving and other traffic-related matters.
Sgt Newman said the man was also found in breach of the chief health officer’s coronavirus restrictions and was issued with a $1652 fine.
