Around 100 Australian Army soldiers were at the AIS for a one-week human performance optimisation (HPO) recovery week after successfully passing the gruelling three-week-long commando selection course. AIS sports scientists and Army physical training instructors spent the week taking the commando trainees through the theory and practice of strength conditioning, good nutrition, preparation and recovery techniques as part of the HPO recovery week. Armyâs HPO program underpins Chief of Armyâs âArmy in Motionâ strategic guidance to ensure Australian Army personnel are ready for any task now and into the future. The HPO program is about investing in the preparedness and potential of our people: producing skilled and resilient soldiers; empowered, decisive and thoughtful leaders; and cohesive and adaptive teams. Special Operations Education & Training Centre (SOTEC) integrates HPO into all its activities to ensure understanding of the mental, physiological and nutritional aspects of human performance to enable behaviour change and achieve optimal day-to-day performance. Special Operations Command Education & Training Centre (SOTEC) is the Australian Armyâ€s special operations âschoolhouseâ, responsible for Special Operations Commandâs recruitment, selection, training, education and trade management.

Why Albanese is right to be wary of US warship request
