Five top Australian entrepreneurs and CEOs will front Network 10’s revived Shark Tank Australia as judges and investors.
The premise of the show, which has been on hiatus since 2019, is that small-business owners get an audience in front of venture capitalists — the “sharks” — in the hope of inciting a bidding war for a stake in the company.
In the upcoming season, Jane Lu, the founder and CEO of online fashion boutique Showpo; Sabri Suby, author and the founder of King Kong Digital Marketing Agency; Dr. Catriona Wallace, AI expert and founder of the Responsible Metaverse Alliance; and Davie Fogarty, founder of the Davie Group, the business responsible for 10 consumer brands including The Oodie, will front the series as investors. Also on board is Robert Herjavec, a “shark” from the US version of the show, who, over its 14 seasons, has invested $20 million in businesses.
Mr Fogarty told Adelaide Now that he joined the show “to give hungry entrepreneurs a chance to change their lives”.
“I am looking for unique products that solve problems and improve the world.”
Daniel Monaghan, senior VP of content and program at Paramount Australia, said that the five new Sharks “come from diverse sectors of business, and their background and journeys to success are nothing short of inspirational.”
“We can’t wait for them to share their knowledge and provide invaluable take aways to the entrepreneurs who enter the Tank.”
Network 10 is currently recruiting entrepreneurs to take part in the show.
On Friday, The Australian will reveal The List, the biggest annual study of Australia’s 250 wealthiest individuals.
