Seven slips as fast-tracked Marvels Agents of SHIELD is rested

THE Seven Network had a rare loss as its US series MarvelÂ’s Agents of SHIELD was "rested" in the US.

While Seven News (1.015 million) and Home and Away (820,000) ranked in the top ten for the night, Slideshow ranked 13th with 626,000 metropolitan viewers, according to preliminary OzTAM data.

The scheduling of movie Jack and Jill allowed Nine to win the night with a 20.0 per cent capital-city channel share ahead of Seven’s 17.0 per cent, ABC1’s 15.3 per cent and Ten’s 12.5 per cent.

ABC1’s strong night was led by Gruen Planet registering its second consecutive million-plus audience (1.004 million) and Chris Lilley’s comedy Ja’mie: Private School Girl holding most of its debut audience despite polarising viewers. It dropped only 44,000 to average 880,000 viewers last night.

Nine benefitted from Agents of SHIELD’s absence with Hostages rising 86,000 to 642,000. Similarly, The Bachelor on Ten held at 649,000 viewers and local drama Wonderland rose to an audience of 516,000.

On subscription-TV, George Bailey's swashbuckling innings propelled Fox Sports 3's coverage of the sixth one day international cricket match in India to 187,000 viewers ahead of Location Location Location Australia's 125,000.

Among free-to-air multichannels, 7mate recorded a 5.7 per cent share and GO! a 4.9 per cent metro share.
