Stop crying your heart out, Oasis fans — 15 years after the Britpop superstars played their last gig, rumours are swirling that brothers and arch rivals Noel and Liam Gallagher may share the stage once more.

Today, Oasis posted a cryptic teaser on social media, displaying a date — 27.08.24 — and an announcement time of 8am.

This comes on the heels of an article in The Sunday Times on August 24, which claimed that, according to “industry insiders,” the band would reunite in 2024 for a 10-night headlining run at London’s Wembley Stadium, with additional dates at Heaton Park in Manchester, the band’s hometown.

There are also rumblings that a Glastonbury headliner slot could be added to the schedule, coinciding with the 30-year anniversary of their generation-defining second album, What’s the Story Morning Glory?

But before you dust off your Kangol bucket hat and Adidas Gazelles, neither brother has yet to outright confirm the reunion.

Liam Gallagher has been toying with fans on social media, replying to their reactions on X with cryptic statements like “News to me,” “I know nothing,” and “Your scared, how do you think I feel?”

After The Times story broke, Liam responded to a sceptic, saying, “See you down the front ya big fanny kiss x.”

Oasis’s final line-up included the Gallagher brothers, guitarist Gem Archer, and bassist Andy Bell when they called it quits in 2009.

That year, tensions between the brothers erupted into a heated argy bargy that led to Liam damaging one of Noel’s guitars, ultimately causing the last-minute cancellation of their scheduled performance at the French festival Rock en Seine, just hours before they were set to take the stage. “It is with some sadness and great relief … I quit Oasis tonight,” Noel Gallagher wrote in a statement on the band’s website that same evening. “People will write and say what they like, but I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer.”

In the decade and a half since the break-up, the brothers have exchanged plenty of nasty jibes — Liam called Noel a “sad little dwarf,” while Noel fired back with, “I liked my Mum until she gave birth to Liam.”

However, if recent events are anything to go off, it appears their relationship might be on the mend. During his Reading Festival set on Friday evening (August 23), Liam dedicated his performance of “Half the World Away” to “Noel f — ing Gallagher.”
